END OF OUR FIRST SUMMER
We are coming to the end of our first summer with a feeling of some success. March will be our busiest month of Tournaments and a test of our systems!
The social Maroubra Beach weekend on the 7–8 March is filling up but there
are still some spots for Men´s, Women´s and the Junior´s. It´s going to be a
great weekend!

Blacksmiths Beach at Lake Macquarie is our next location on the weekend of
the 14/15 March. We are running this Tournament with the guys from Newcastle, Fusion Football. We´ll let you know more on them soon. They are running the
men´s Tournament on Sunday and we will organise the Women´s and Junior´s
on Saturday.

Blacksmiths Beach is the most southern beach from Newcastle before you
cross the Swansea Bridge on the Pacific Highway. Great beach for the game
and the NSW State Surf Life Saving Championships were held there on the
21–22 February.

INTERESTED IN PLAYING FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM?
The FFA has decided to select a National Beach Football team which will aim to compete in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be held in Dubai in November 2009.
The FFA will be entering a team in the Asian Football Confederation Beach Soccer Qualifying Tournament in May 2009. In conjunction with Member Federations, the FFA will conduct trials for invited players from across Australia in 6 locations which started in Melbourne. The trials will then move on to Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Perth and Adelaide in the coming weeks. Look on your States Federation web

Identified players from the trial days will be invited to attend a National Team Camp to be held in April. The camp will be under the direction of newly appointed National Beach Football Head Coach Airton Andrioli. Airton currently works as State and Regional Development Officer with Football Federation South Australia and has had extensive experience in the area of beach football. Airton was the head coach of the Solomon Islands Olympic National team as well as their National Beach Football team.

SYDNEY TRIAL DATE
Football NSW would like to invite all Male Senior Premier and Super League players who are interested in representing their Country at the Beach World Cup to fill out an Expression of Interest form for trials.
The trial date for selections has been set down for Sunday 15th March 2009 to be held at Maroubra Beach, Maroubra. More on the Football NSW web site at www.footballnsw.com.au and then click on the HPU tab or requesting a form from either sallyp@footballnsw.com.au or fax: 02 9629 3770.
